The Sports Management Course is intended to be a useful short training program for new and current sport managers and volunteers in the sport industry who need the ‘fundamentals’ to manage sporting clubs and organisations.
The sport industry relies heavily on the skills, dedication and contribution of Sport Managers as they work hand-in-hand with volunteers, players, coaches and other stakeholders developing and guiding the business of sport.
Education and continuing professional development of Sport Managers is the key to ensuring the sports industry is able to deliver valuable and professionally managed programs and services to its sporting participants.
Remember, behind every great event, elite athlete and community sport program is a Sport Manager (paid and volunteer) who is responsible for running programs, balancing budgets and making decisions.
The Sports Management Course has been specifically developed by the Institute of Sport Management as a distance learning program to allow you to work through the modules at your own pace.
The course is made up of 6 separate modules each designed to provide you with the information you need to gain a solid understanding of the issues relating to the management of sport, be at a local club, regional association or national level.
